Questions for journalists
Journalists’ research for an interview or a press conference can be enhanced with a quick search. Search for a politician, or a specific topic, to find the community’s most popular questions. This can help uncover hidden issues, help refine good questions to pose to politicians, and which topics are resonating the most with the community.
Community influencers
People with important lived experience of a particular issue don’t necessarily need to organise in advance or attend a protest to make an impact. You can easily publish a relevant question, and others with similar experiences can amplify it by up-voting. The more good questions you publish and are up-voted by the Ask Parliament community, the greater your influence in making an impact in areas that are important to you. Become a change maker!
Parliamentary committees
Committee members can use Ask Parliament to get expert suggestions for good questions. Suppose Senate estimates wants to examine the effectiveness of a recently-built government app, but they don’t understand the app or its likely failures well enough to formulate effective questions. Knowledgeable experts can publish critical questions for committee members to pose that can be up-voted by the community so they receive greater attention.
